From small town to big City

As someone who grew up in small town Eudora, KS, I never imagined all of the interesting experiences I would have. I did feel I was meant to do something great, though. Started off by playing in a band in high school. We wrote our own material and did pretty well for ourselves. Well enough to tour around a few states and make some connections around Kansas and some lasting friendships that I still cherish to this very day. Even my first year of college, my band was still quite important to me. But I also wasn't sure what I truly wanted in life and I had no outstanding goals for my future. I felt as if I were floating by each day without direction or meaning.

Denver 2012, my first year at RMCAD. I came to this school prepared to do whatever it took to graduate. And that's what I did. I finished my senior film in less than a year and was ready to push my work ethics and passion into the industry. Although I have a lot more personal work to put into before being worthy of the film industry, I found out that I was more capable than I ever gave myself credit for. The sheer dedication, determination and versatility carried over into all of the wonderful companies I have worked for as a Marketer.

Marketing quickly grew into a passion for me because it is an ever changing industry that pushes and challenges those who pursue it. I have always been interested in human nature, and as a marketer, you must study those patterns. I obsessed over the inbound methodology and idolized the brilliance behind the company who founded it, Hubspot.  It has become extremely important not only as a practice in my career, but in my personal life as well. People don't want cold calls, they don't want to feel harassed or annoyed, they want to feel valued and it is my job as a marketer to show them and the company I work for that I am there to help.
